Another quilt top, and signing off for a while

Over the last week i cut two more quilt tops, using the beautiful orange batiks sent by Joan as the theme fabrics, and yesterday sewed one top, and Audrey began the other. They are looking bright enough to need sunnies - lovely!

I'll be away for 3 weeks or so. We are going south in our caravan, delivering a box of fabric etc to Christina (see her blog in related links: We Care). Well, thats our excuse! Keep up with our travels on our travel blog if you like:

20 quilts posted!

Today we boxed up 20 quilts into 4 cartons, and posted them off to Zimbabwe. Used heaps of packaging tape! Now we have to be patient till they arrive - anywhere between 3 and 5 months, or maybe more . . .

More fabric and boy quilts

Another bag of fabric arrived from Joan in Tassie yesterday. The washing line is now full of lovely bright fabric getting rained on !

And i finished two more boy quilts from the fabric Jo gave us. We now have 19 bed quilts and one "road" playmat quilt (also from Jo) ready to be sent off, complete with 8 hotwheels cars, a bargain buy from Big W (8 for $10). Boxing and posting will be next weeks task!

Library Book Sale

Community groups in Logan get the opportunity to run the Saturday library book sale, of books weeded out from the library. Yesterday we had a turn, and made $178.30. Since books are 50c or $1, and magazines 20c, this was quite good.

I have to admit that the three of us bought 9 bags of books between us, so that helped!
